Today my frind came up , and let me borrow his truck , otherwise i cant get out I have no car, well I went to a nice location witch i will not even give a hint of but lets put it this way within 5 minuts i hit a signal that sounded like a pull tab , and i dig tabs because that were gold comes in well i was expecting a tabb when a nice shiney heavy gold thing comes out i knew it was a real one it was heavy and no corosion on it , Wow my 1st 14 k gold ring after beating myself up in the farm field it was nice to hit a spot like this picked up a buck in cladd and a few tabs but I plan on getting back to this spot , looks like hands over a heart with a crown and when i cleaned the deirt out of it it was indeed 14k wooo I started detecting may 1st 2007 and this is the 1st gold I have found I was using the soverign GT and the stock 10" coil and the pistol probe , lesh knife and the 18" wilcox trowel no plugs just cut and pry grass was to nice to dig plugs.

I'll second that - well deserved........:clapping:

Nice looking ring - I am fairly sure it won't take you too long to find another one......

Very nice find indeed!!! I like the unique design too.
It sure is exciting to make a find like that while searching.
Congradulations,
Felix

A persons first gold ring is always special, but many times they are plain wedding bands. Yours has a beautiful design, and hopefully you will keep it forever, because it will always be a special memory. Congratulations.

Beautiful ring there Gunnar, congratulations! here is a link where you can read about them: http://www.potgold.com/claddagh.htm

You are da man Gunnar! That is a beautiful 14k gold ring! You most certainly deserve every bit of it. Persistence has paid off. Good job and super find! Now get back there lol

say thats some great history , on the ring thanks , I had no idea, you know I would not be suprized if more rings come out of this spot , to be truthfull i now see why minelab does not make the musky anymore the GT really is so much better and tells you so much more, i was hunting in disq and pinponted in all metal pinpont it was doing well thanks guys it does feel good to win

Congratulations! Thanks for sharing the experience. What did the meter read? Do we even need a meter when looking for gold with the GT? Do you think we will ever be able to stop digging most of that trash and truly be able to discriminate the gold? Surely the GT gives us the best chance at doing so once we learn what it's telling us. Good luck with that next gold object and I bet it comes sooner than your first. James

I do not have a meter, to heavy I just dig everything that gives a repetable beep, In fact i scaned a tab and then the ring no diffrence , so I would ecorage others to use notch on pulls so i can get all the rings, coins do make a higher tone , but this ring made a lower sound like can slaw , now i know dig the can slaw if you want a ring. one cool thing about the GT is how well it ignors foil unlike my other machine had me digging lots of gum wrapers not the GT it really tells you volumes by the sounds it makes

Congrats on a beautiful gold. I found a silver claddach but that's a nice one. I'd probably even save the dirt that come home with it!
Doc

I have found so far 6 of those heart and hands rings. But none of them were gold....all were silver. Finding gold is better for sure....but silver is nice too. Nice find!

I hear it is a woman's ring and if they wear them with the heart facing away that means they are available. If women wear them with the heart facing in, then they are taken. I think most women wear them facing in just to keep the guys at bay!

whos sneakers were you wearing, lol lol...... congrats,i knew it was just a matter of time and luck of couse.....thats a nice one...i found one almost identicle a year ago.......congats again....
