1st 1 hr hunt with the VX3

took the VX3 out for the first time to see how it works.and my response is a very easy machine to turn on and go and stable it is.I took it to a old school ground I have hunted and hunted and it still produces every time.the great finds are getting slim but today I did manage to find a 1937 buffalo nickle and a couple of pieces of jewelry, and some clad.sure it doesn't have all the features of the V3i but for the money I pick it over a DFX any day.

Thanks for the report, and I agree it is better than the DFX. It is setup to run smooth. They are going to sell a lot of the VX3. Glad you had good luck and enjoy your detector.

padgett79,

How is the recovery time of the VX3? I am getting rid of a Explorer SE (slow) and thinking about the VX3. I have an old Eagle Spectrum, how does the VX3 compare?

Thanks,

Joe

The recovery speed is fully adjustable to your needs from lightning fast to WAY too slow.

The Eagle is quite old but still a good detector but the advances made in the last twenty years is just amazing. It would be hard to compare the two since they are so different.

you will like the VX3 I do and I have ran the eagle spectrum just remember to properly ground balance the vx3 it will help alot.like Larry said you can adjust the recovery speed and I just run it in factory settings and have done well, just looking for an older place to do,I have been doing some trashy areas and the vx3 does a great job of bypassing pulltabs I dug 30 targets this morning in another hr hunt and 25 were coins 2 pull tabs and 3 fence parts that came in at the quarter range. so far I am pleased as I have been trying to see the improvements over my xlt

Has anyone tried the VX3 at the beach? I want to get a good beach and water machine and I would like to stay with Whites products. I have heard
Low evaluations of the Dual Field Pulse machine. can the VX3 do the job in salt and wet sand say close to an excel or infinimum?

The Vx3 will do the job at the beach in Florida and Texas. I'm not a beach hunter but have used the V3i on this type of beach. If I lived close to the beaches I'd opt for a waterproof water detector. there is more good stuff in the water.
