I went to a 19th century farmhouse with my partners in crime, my sons Nathan (11 years old) and Owen (9 years old). The property, which is outside Turbotville, PA, had never been detected so we went in with high hopes. Two minutes in I get a great signal from my AT Pro and pull out several keys and what initially looked like a coin. I wiped a couple times and saw that it was something like a token. It turned out to be a souvenir key tag from the Cherokee Indian Reservation in North Carolina. Encouraged by the find I went back to work. Unfortunately, it was the only interesting find I had the entire time. The property turned out to be a bust as far as coins go. I managed two Lincoln Memorial pennies (at least they were pre-zinc clad). Oh well, I had some fun out detecting with my sons. We still have hopes of one day finding that dream property.
