1950 Studebaker "Champion" Hood Emblem / Early 1900s Car Design Button And Other Buttons / Coins back to 1898

Most of the finds shown came last weekend at a small town city park about 3 hours from home that still had an early 1900s school in the corner of it.
A real nice guy with a Minelab CTX 17x13 coil setup was also detecting the site about an hour after I had started.
We chatted and he said he has been hitting this place for years and has been detecting since he was 12.
The park had some area so I knew I could pull something. I started with my Tornado Coil and right away pulled numerous deep pennies back to 1898 and a few silver dimes back to 1920 and some old nickels.
I could tell most of the high tones were cleaned out so I started chasing the deep lower 12-20s signals. Right away I got rewarded with that old car design button (12-22 signal) and then numerous buttons followed.
The car looks to be similar to a 1903 Studebaker car. The guy who was also detecting there seemed pretty surprised that much stuff was still there and really liked the old car button I found.
I came back later in the day and switched to my 13x14 Storm coil and pulled a few more coins including a 1940 merc and a silver war nickel (12-25 signal?) along with a few more wheats and buttons and that bracelet.

The car hood emblem appears to be from a 1950 Studebaker Champion car and was pulled from a small town very close to home the previous week.
The old brass ring was about 9 inches deep. "State Of Minnesota" is displayed on it.

Coin Finds
1943 Quarter
5 silver dimes are back to 1920.
1920,1936,1937 Buffalo Nickels, Silver War Nickel and other Jeffersons
1898 Indian Head Penny
Numerous Wheat Pennies are back to 1910.

Non Coin Finds
Very Old Cuff Link with "R" initial
Old Brass Ring
1950 Champion Studebaker Hood Emblem
Early 1900s Old Car Design Button and Pile of other buttons
Ford Tootsie Toy
Old Bus Tokens (I found wheat pennies back to 1940 right by them so they have some age)
Old Hinge
1960s Kids Ring
Buckle

That is absolutely insane! To have a site that a fellow and others have hunted many times and then go back in and collect all this?? At what point does it go from “all that was just missed” to “operator skill and experience now eclipses all chance”? Some will look at these pics, read the story and say “Ho hum....”. I look at the post and say “someone has developed skills and knowledge over time which ALLOWS them to make many of these finds.” It’s hardly ever easy nowadays. Some people just make it look that way...
Well done as always FPD!

Thanks for the comments IDX! Appreciate it.
Up here in the northern plains our dense dirt and long winters causes a lot of the targets to sink pretty deep.
I have revisited many sites where I have saw all that frost action at work shifting targets the following year and have pulled more.
An immense amount of patience helps me eventually run into areas that hold the deep targets partially masked by junk.
I love the exercise. The guy I met at that park couldn't believe I only ever carry a small Whites digger. He had a spade.
These days I am completely content running into deep wheat pennies but a lot of times they lead to something else.
It truly is the best hobby in the world for me.

Well done Dave! Love that hood emblem. Seems we both found unusual car emblems about the same time. Very cool piece you found there. You definitely found a lot of buttons and that early auto button is very nice. That's an amazing number of finds for such a hard hit park! I know that was a satisfying day. Glad to see you feeling better and out there hunting again. ATB Greg

Thanks Mark,
You got a nice road side park cap bust. A few years ago I pulled a very nice seated dime at a site where it was 50 years older than the other coins and made me wonder how it ever got there.
You just never know what will turn up.
