found this tuesday to, at a old school built in 1928, im hoping for some more good finds out of this place they told me it was hunted out uhmmmmm

Which coil are you using Bryan? Great find. Rob

Love those walkers!!! Nice hit. HH Dennis in Idaho

rob, im using the stock coil 950, i dont know why people dont like this coil ive found over ten coins in the 1800 with it since march. i just got a 100 dollar coupon from whites to use my cannon ball story, even though they havent put it on there yet. im thinking about getting the 10dd with the money. and thanks steel head its my first 50 cent piece, im still looking for that dollar and those gold rings

Awesome coin, keep hittin that place and you are sure to score a few more keepers!

Bryan, Nancy uses the 9.5 all the time with great success and you guys live in the same area of Illinois. Rob

There is nothing wrong with using the stock coil Bryan. Nancy has used it for many years and has done very well with it. Congratulations on the great finds, man you have been on fire.

Nice find Bryan! Larry and I ran into a fellow Saturday who told us he had hunted where we were off and on for five years, from 1975 to 1979 or 1980. And he knew two other fellows who had hit that park awhole more than he did. He didn't believe we could find old coins there. No place is ever hunted out. Especially when you are finding half dollars! Keep up the good work.

Very nice find Bryan. You don't see half dollars very often and they sure are pretty. Yes, I use the stock coil and I also like the little 5.3" coil when going slow. Others love the 6 x 10 DD coil. There's lot of good coils out there. Talk to you later........HH to all, Nancy

It is hard to believe that someone would walk over a half, but it happens and I have done it myself, more than once I'm sure. I agree with Dave, the good finds just get harder to find, but never worked out. Hey Dave, we need to take a closer look at that dance hall the old timer was talking about......... Let's see..........this is your day off and we have a break in the weather, I bet you will be back in the woods today............. Too bad I have to work today or I'd help you haul the silver back out of the woods to you car...

It's kinda shocking to pull a large silver coin from a heavily hit area. It has happened to me a few times and they always have seemed to be shallow and all alone too! Found an old old pocket spill in a heavily searched park last month, but no silver in it. Rozanne-Rozanadana Factor..."Just goes to show...there's always something!" ( I'm too old...and if you remember it...you are too!!!)

Hey now nw1886 I remember Rozanne-Rozanadana and I'm not OLD............ Well, not too old anyway. Boy it doesn't get much better than the older SNL! Thanks for the memories! Nancy

Remembers "The Samurai Optometrist" and also "Cheeseburger, cheeseburger, cheeseburger, coke" LOL.

I remember when a walker was common every day pocket change in the late 50's.I loved them and the matching quarters with the beautiful eagle on the back.

Great score on the silver half, if you do get the D2 coil you probably won't be using the stock coil anymore. I bought my D2 late last year and tried to detect with it but there was just too much snow(we had a hard core winter here in Michigan) and as soon as that snow melted I started hitting them hammered parks and it's just awesome for the deep stuff, plan on doing some digging when you put that coil on.
