1942 zinc penny

was any 1942 pennys zinc i dont find any mention of them . I dug one up and it is very corroded looks like a zinc penny . looks very different from any other wheat i dug Thanks
 
No zinc pennies were made in 1942. Probably just the soil and fertilizer.
 
Supposedly, a few (like 5 or so) of 1943 pennies were struck in copper and a few of 1944 pennies were struck in steel.
