Found this in my trash lot tonight at about 6 inches with my mxt w/5.3 coil, relic mode, no disc, trigger forward. the pin was sitting next to the tag...

What an awesome find Greg. It would be cool to track down the owner if possible. Thanks for sharing. HH to all, Nancy

I wander if that's the type of license that had to be pined to the sun visor like taxi drivers use. Any way that's a real nice find and peace of history.

Now those are the kinds of finds that I love to make. Anything with a date. I found this 51 pin a while back. It's not as old as yours but it is a favorite. The 100,000 pin I found a a ball field my dad used. He had a pin like this from work. It could have been his. Have fun. Rob

I don't know what metal it is? I don't think I would clean it with more than soap and water and a soft brush. It's old, looks good and all the writing is readable. Just enjoy it. Like my 100,000 pin, cleaning would just lose more of the paint. Rob

Those are definitely keepers Rob. Very nice finds. HH, Nancy

Like Rob stated, soap and water with a soft brush. Toothbrush maybe? That should do it and shouldn't take off much of the paint. HH to all, Nancy
