1929 Merc dime

floridason

New member
that I found last Monday at a sports complex. It's pretty worn down but able to see most of it on both sides.. On the face just behind (or to the right) of the neck is a figure of some kind(sorry, I don't know how to get a pic to show you). It looks like a mint mark of some kind, but not a D or P or any other I've ever seen. It kinda reminds me of a dove
on the wing coming at me when looking thru a magnifier(about a 10x mag).. This is also my first merc dime I've found. Thanks for looking. KC

without seeing the dime, I'm guessing you are looking at the innitials of the designer (Adolph Weinman) which are in the form of a monogram that could, when worn, look like a dove flying towards you.

Thqnks Johnny, yes I can see that I looked of the MXT forum and saw a 42' and 44' with the same thing on them so that is it, since their's was just what I couldn't see very good on mine. Appreciate it. KC
