A MD buddy of mine whom buys a lot of real estate to flip was working on one of his new properties. He's always talking about taking a day off so we can detect. Well I decided to stop in on him and detect his latest property while he was there working. Upon arrival he saw me approaching the house with my gear & met in the front yard. He said have at it and I said someone has to detect it before it gets sold. The front yard only gave up some clad & lots of iron. I wasn't really expecting to find much, just give him a hard time about not taking time to detect. I asked him when the house was built and he advised in the 50's. I told him I was going to check out the back yard real quick and he said he'd be in the basement. I made my way to the back for a few and the grass was in the need of cutting, making it difficult to get close to the ground. Dug a couple of plugs & my buddy conversing through a basement window asking you find anything good (jokingly). Then the Etrac gives me 11-47 deep, I start digging through some hard dry dirt about 8" down and popped out large silver. When I see the flying Eagle on the reverse I knew what I had SLQ! I grab my phone for a pic & my buddy through the window yells out "he's taking pics it must be good!". I told him to get out here quick. When he comes out I hand him the SLQ. I would have never thought that property would have give up anything like that. Mission more than accomplished, sure he'll be taking a day off real soon.
