Hello all...

I had an interesting dug item on Saturday...

JohnDavis.jpg

John W. Davis was Calvin Coolidge's opponent in the 1924 election. John Davis was a former VW congressman and carried the 12 souther states compaired to Coolidge's 35 state lanslide winning bid...

I love metal detecting and the stuff we get to learn along the way :)

WikiPedia Data

This rang like a 1/2 dollar at 6" ... Its the size of a quarter but thicker...

HH,
Paul

That is a really cool and historic find! I like that one a lot.

Nice find and it looks like the hole was punched in when it was made. WTG.

Nice finds. Like you, I enjoy finding stuff that is "out of the ordinary". And your John W. Davis token certainly fits that category! Preserving a memory of someone we may otherwise never heard of! Congrats!!! HH Randy

Very unique find Paul, the only question I have is (was this guy a Volkswagen congressman)? Just kidding I figure it was WV.My parents are both from West by god Virginia. I do love the token though.

Boris! A combination of being dyslexic and VW fanitic lead me to ..... errr.... sorry...

Then again maybe it was that I grew up in Western PA and all of our... well those kind of jokes were about VW.... so I do need to say I'm sorry...

Please forgive me :)

HH!
Paul

Hey Paul there is no need to apologise I was just having a little bit of fun.It was a great find and I just love tokens because they are so unique and there are so many different ones it is hard to find a common one.
