I've been lusting after one of my neighbors lawns for quite some time. Yesterday saw him out raking and secured permission. Headed over early afternoon. Perfect conditions- lawn just mowed and raked, moisture perfect. Didn't go more than a foot and got a very pretty hit. I usually just dig but this time I played around with the sensitivity some. I was running 20 manual, about where I could get stability with the nearby powerlines. I was able to drop it to 13 and still get a signal but much more broken up. Then I cranked it up to 26 and still got a nice signal, but it was hopping and a popping. I was surprised how hot I could run and still get a good signal. May have to give this a try. I seems the the strongest signal is the one that wins, may post some thoughts on this over on the Classroom someday.
Anyways, first dig was this-

I keep finding 1917 SLQs in good shape, found two 1917 Type Is not too far from the house. Not that I am complaining but nice to get a new early SLQ with a readable date.
Kept on detecting but the finds slowed down abit. Managed four IHs and two V nickels. One of the V's hit much lower than usual, target icon was halfway off the screen Wouldn't have normally dug it but it was deep and there hadn't been much trash. May have to be more open minded about digging nickels; thought I was already. Only two wheats and no modern silver so I am pretty sure someone had already been over the yard sometime in the past.
Big disk in the upper left seems to be an indian head that found its way under a train.
