Searched an 1800's era house today and found a 1917 Mercury 4 inches deep in cows#$t. Also found an old hand auger, a stirrup, a hub for a Model A Ford, a single blade axe, and a double blade axe. The double blade axe was borrowed by a historian that was hunting with us to be put in a display at the local courthouse.

Very nice finds Sonny. And that's awesome about the axe being displayed so others can see it too. You'll have to take pictures of it in the display case and share them with us here on the forum. Does the 1917 Merc. have a mint mark? Great finds!!!! Congrats!!!

Sorry no mint mark.. I will be getting a pic of the display as soon as it is ready. Thanks for the comments
