1917, 1942 Merc & six wheat's

Thought I would try the river since it was hot today. Goose poop everywhere. Bad idea.

They are demoing buildings everywhere for the new road. This is an old spot in the early days of Palatine, now Fairmont. The cats of the heavy equipment roll up the sod nicely. The street has constructions workers everywhere. I try to stay out of their way and so far they are putting up with my presence,

Not enough room for all the photos, but I hit four sites today. I gave way to some big equipment and kept moving around. I left most of the trash where I found it. One place the man was still moving and told me to go ahead and MD the place. He said don't worry about filling in the holes. If someone breaks their leg they can sue the state. They own it now(Emmit domain). This is what I brought home.

I got six wheat's, two mercury's and a copper fancy thingy. It has two metal loops in the back. It looks like a flat strap would go through it. It seems too big to wear.

Oh well, I mislabeled a mercury on the previous picture. 1942 &1917 No d.

Those Mercs are a beautiful coin.....one of the nicest I believe ever minted. That copper thingy looks very Victorian. keep hitting those houses. :)

Looks like things are picking up for you John. 2 Mercs (one of my favorite coins) in one day, score!!. Seems just the other day you were fist fighting hot rocks and now you rock. MD those old houses when you can you lucky guy.

The hot rocks are always there. They come in as a dime to quarter. One of my big problems now is the foil from insulation after they demo a house. I will miss a lot because of it. There is no way I can clean it all up.

Nice pile of goodies there John. Construction sites (if you can get in them) are great places. I found a wheat one time where they had removed some dirt around a tree. WAY down there. Don't think I would have found it other wise......

Nice work John got love them mercs found 1924 here myself yesterday and tallies as my oldest coin to date. Happy hunting swing ,swing and swing.
