It was above freezing today so I hit the ball park. Didn't think that I would find much & figured on only clad. I found $1.16 in clad a little butterfly ear ring and then just as I was ready to leave I sung the coil over the end of the warning track & bam. The signal sounded like it was right on top so I scraped off the top layer of cinders and saw what I thought was a zinc penny. When I dusted it off I did the little happy dance, my first barber dime 1915 s in great shape. It had to have been brought in with the cinders other wise it would have been a lot deeper, even the clad was 1 to 2 inches down & it was all new.

Love it!!!! That's cool and nice fine. You were so excited, you forgot to say what kind of 1915-S Barber coin. Nice find either way! You never know where those 'special' finds will turn up. Thanks for sharing and HH, Nancy

Nancy, it's that silver dollar, it started it all.

Just put it in soapy water and soak it over night. Run water over it to get the dirt out. Never NEVER rub a silver/gold coin when it's dry. VERY nice coin Bula. You should see my face right now. [attachment 116028 images.jpg]
