I finally got out this morning with my new SEF 10X12 coil to the pounded out old park in my suburban Pittsburgh neighborhood. I managed to get an 1896 and an 1905 Indian and a 1914-D Lincoln. The date and mintmark on the Lincoln is clearly readable. The coin is almost black and there is some pitting on the obverse of the coin. There also appears to be some scaling? on the obverse. The reverse grades at least good. I'm kind of hesitant to touch the coin other than the soap and water rinse I gave it. Any suggestions on what or or whether I should do anything with it. My camera is not good enough to get a close enough picture so I didn't post a picture.
