1913 cent, buffalo? 1896 nickel, token= good day

Uncle Willy knows his stuff. When he speaks I listen, I have heard him say most things are found in the top 6". He is right. He said who would want to dig 2ft. for something? I would Besides the Id would be right on for half that dept.
When they take off the top 4 to 6" I find the good stuff. I drove by and I saw where a track hoe's cats tore up some sod. The older coins I found after the sod was removed was 4 to 6" down still. I found this 1896 nickel at 6". It was in loose black dirt and had very little mineralization.

Near by I found a no date buffalo nickel.

Two ft. more and I found a 1913 cent.

Another strange token.

The big thing is copper and heavy. Found another miner's tag and a lip stick case. A cool marble. When I was a kid I would find this same marble while playing in this area and I still have them.

The word after Germantown "Liedertafel" means men's coral group.

It is a great time to MD a dried up lake or a low stream. Maybe near a battle field or a ferry crossing.
It has been a little dry here. What is nice about these old demo's is the soil is loose and black. I notice the parks and newer places the ground is hard.

Awesome finds I can't wait until I find my first buffalo.

Way to go John!!! Great finds for sure......

Right, but sometimes more like a club or fraternal organization for those of German heritage. Just wondering if it is local to you. Yours is in great condition and a wonderful fine.
These groups often had festivals prior to WWII and the tokens were used to buy things from booths much like a modern carnival where one buys tickets at the gate and uses them to buy things at the booths. Someone from Ohio, Springfield, I think, might know something from their club. Still might be clubs in NY or NJ, too, or better Pa. since it is closer to you.
Looked up Springfield's club and their emblem seems to match the rear of your coin.

Nice haul John. Is that token silver or nickel? It sure is shiny.

I hope it has a date on it. The dates are the first to wear off on buffalo's. On the v nickels the date is the last to wear off.

You had a helluva day bud. Nice finds. Maybe when some of the crud comes off the Buffalo you might see a hint of a date. The dates on those nickels was the first thing to wear off. What's the token made of? Do you think this area you hunted might have been land filed at one time? The depths you found the coins makes me suspect so.
