Two days ago I posted a 1910 wheatie because it was my oldest wheatie to date. Ohio Fred said too bad it wasn't a 1909. Well today I found a 1909 wheatie. It's in better shape that it looks. I'm soaking it to get the dirt off. The gray photo is to see the date better. Rob

i found a 1909 penny out in centerville minnesota along whith a bufalow nickle an 1876 indian head a silver dime a silver quarter and a big flint spear point we sifted an earea 6'x6'and 12" deep no detector i was amazed how many coins came out but i remember the 1909 that was the first year they made the waeat cents and i think the stoped in 59
 
No VDB or S VDB, it is the most common 1909. Rob

A few years ago a military base in town here was reduced in size. The grounds were sold to developers and the City. Before anyone could go onto it a company was brought in that sifted the entire site to a depth of several feet. I can't even begin to imagine what they found.
