1909-S Indian Head Picture

A fantastic find! I am just glad that it wasn't your regular Indian Head that you find that is usually pitted and in bad condition. WTG and hope you find a few more nice key dates. Good Luck and HH.

Ron,

The soil around here is pretty sandy so there is good drainage. Most of the IHs and LC I find here clean up nicely. I used to live in a town about 30 miles away and around there most of the soil was clay based, and most copper would come out of the ground encased in a green crust that seldom cleaned up well.

Seems like most key date coins one finds are badly worn, it was sweet to dig this one in good condition.

Chris, you are sure lucky to have coin kind soil...

That's a beautiful coin alright.

I just hope the ground doesn't start to freeze up too fast since it is only going to be in the 40's and 50's with low's in the 20's and the 30's. Again, Congrat's on that great find and Good Luck and HH on your next adventure out.

Thanks for posting the photo. You did not exaggerate nor disappoint. That is one great find.
