1905 to 2002

I had a few minutes this morning and decided to give the Vaquero some play time in the yard. Along with the random chunks of iron I found two pennies. The first a 2002 Memorial only a half inch or so into the sandy soil. Then about 12 feet away a second strong hit. The 1905 Indian Head was 6 inches down under a wrist sized old root. Ninety seven years between those two coils and a world apart in the times we live. My house was only 22 years old when that coin was new. No air travel, no TV, radio was a wonder, pre WW1 or 2, pre Depression, and most folks still had outdoor plumbing.

Nice injun!!! I found my oldest coin 1832 half dime about a foot from my front porch with an ace 250 about 3 years ago.I just ordered a new Vaquero this past Friday and cant wait to rehunt my old spots and my yard.Funny thing our house was built in 1953 I found the 1832 half dime an 1889 dime and a injun head penny the same day.Go figure.HH

Nice going! Your Vaquero will unearth lots of history.
