Hello Everyone.
I had another fun and productive week at a spot I've been detecting now for the past few weeks. This week, I found my 80th silver coin from this site, including my 7th and 8th barber dimes(1914D, 1910), and my 4th and 5th Indian Head pennies (1906, 1895). I can't believe how many more Mercury dimes I'm finding at this spot than Rosies. The ratio is over 2 to 1 (46 Mercs - 20 Rosies). The wheaties are abundant. Many were in the 20's and 30's, highlighted by a 1910 S semi-key. A few of the silvers and wheats were found shallow, but most are in the 7-9 plus inch range. One surprise of the week happened when I was detecting near a gopher mound. I saw something shiny laying right in the middle of the dirt mound, and when I got a little closer, I knew it was gold. It turned out to be a 10 kt gold cross; One of the larger crucifixes I've ever found. Spots this productive in such a short amount of time are few and far between here in S. Cal. This spot was an exception.
Thanks for looking!
