Because of the price of GOLD! When the price of GOLD go's up like it has, anything that is used to find or mine it
go's up also. It's called mining the miners. Also the GOLD rush in the SUDAN has pushed prices up on any GOLD
detectors and the larger size coil's that can be used for nugget hunting.

If that price is correct then that's outrageous. I also always wondered why the 12" Excelerator coil was more expensive than the 14". The only reason why I would figure a reason for that was that many people liked the 12" better. Or maybe I'm confusing sizes, it might have been that the 14" was more expensive than the 16". Either way same reasoning perhaps.
