Because the 18k/3.1g pearl ring with 2 small diamonds on both sides was a 4 TID, like small bits of foil......... and the basket weave 925/7.9g was a crappy 44/46 TID that sounded like a rusty bottle cap. It could barely get out a high tone like a quarter in between the scratchy broken up signal. I figure this has to do with the open spaced design of the weave.
These 2 rings are my best finds in the past month on the beach with the 705/HF DD elliptical , I found the silver a couple weeks ago and the 18k I got this morning.
I'm not getting out much since tourist season ended.....moved into my rental house last month so I could do some major, time consuming work on my house. We had our first cold front pass through last weekend, no AC was needed for 2 whole days..LOL, but its back into the 80s already and the humidity is back. I'm looking forward to some dirt digging when the cool air is here to stay for a while. I plan on getting a digger coil and hitting some private property that I got permission to hunt. Some sound very promising being that they are old homes in central Florida.
When ever I was contacted by someone that lost a piece of jewelry....if I found it or not, I always ask if they or their family has some old property I could hunt instead of a cash reward. After a couple of years of this I have a number of places to try. I also joined a Facebook page that is about remembering old times/places in a 4 county area that I live, and through its twelve thousand members I have obtained more places to hunt by offering MD lessons on their property. I did this by copying the TV show title," What's in the Barn?," but, I titled the post," What's in your yard?," and got a lot of interested people to reply.... GL ALL

bob, those are a couple of nice rings you found, wtg.

I like your idea on finding places to hunt. I hope it pans out for you and let us know how you do. In a lil over a month from now I'll be froze out. This past week we have been lucky if it hits 60f

Sweet goodies as usual Bob!

I really like that ring. Good ideas on getting permission too.
