This is some sort of badge from Nashville's 100th anniversary exposition. It was found at a home site that burnt in the 20's. If anyone has more info I would appreciate it.

Missing hanger bar probably had the word "Souvenir." If you can find a copy of Hibler & Kappen's book, So-Called Dollars, there's some info on the expo on p. 37. Also, check out the link below.
Best of luck,
Buckram

Joe,
Your badge is actually from the centennial celebration of Tennessee's statehood (1797). In 1897 there was a park here in Nashville dedicated for the purpose of celebrating our 100 year anniversary. It was named ( and still is) Centennial Park ( well, duh)The park was a great success and what you have is one of the many souvenirs that were sold to the visitors. The park was built in Nashville because it's the state capitol. Interesting find and I too have found a few around here but not one like yours. There must have been a good variety of them. Good find! PS- if you do a google search on Centennial park in Nashville, I'll bet that you could learn a lot. Don't know but just an idea.

I appreciate your replies. I wish I could find the missing top piece, I'll keep trying.
