1896 O Barber Dime :clapping:

Haven't posted in a while, but have made some good finds lately. Two weeks ago, I found my oldest coin so far a 1897 Indian penny. Then out on fathers day with my daughter I found a small gold heart shaped pendant with a tiny diamond in it, so fitting finding a heart on fathers day. I went out today to an old park and was working the edge near a creek and got a 3 inch signal bouncing between dime and quarter. Dug it out and saw my NEW oldest coin. I pulled out a 1896 O Barber dime, my first key date coin. I was super excited and about 30 seconds later got crapped on by a bird right on the head! It was kinda bitter-sweet lolol. It sure has been quiet in here lately, hopefully everyone is just busy digging keepers!

What a great Barber find Jon! :wiggle: And congrats on the old Indian too. It doesn't get much better when you find a nice item on a special day. Does your daughter get the heart w/diamond in it? All in all you had a great day by the creek. Too bad that dirty bird had to finish the job.

The Barber dime find makes so much sense. When I was a child, we would go down to the creek and catch tadpoles, crawdads, etc. NO, I'm not THAT old, but old enough. We all had so much fun playing in the creek. HH, Nancy

Jon, I think Nancy wants her Barber dime back. JK Nice coin Jon. Hopefully I can pull one out like it soon. Good job.
