1895 indian oldest coin of the year

Well I caught the construction crews tearing down another old house today so I stopped & hit the yard hoping to find a little silver. It was not in the cards, I did find a few dimes but they were 1965 & up. So I had to settle for the wheats that were left behind, when I got them home & checked them out there was a indian in the bunch. So I ended up with 1 1895 indian & the wheats were 1918, 1919, 1920 s, 1940 & two 1944 d. Oh ya I forgot about the old silver ring no markings on it but I looks very old, any ideas?

Good job Bula. I'd like to see that Indian you rescued. That's an old ring for sure. :clapping: Take care. CCH

BIG congratulations on your finds and a what a great surprise on the Indian. That's so cool. That silver ring sure does look like an oldie. Is there any markings on it? It could be so old that they didn't mark .925 on it and also could be a one of a kind hand made ring. :clapping:

I would call that a good hunt Bula..........

Thats a good hunt with some very nice finds . Congrats

Thanks for the replies, the Indian is the first coin I have found with the dreaded hole in it. If I can get it cleaned up I will post a pic of it. The ring has no markings at all, it does look hand made & at times it looks to have a gold tone to it. On the MXT it has a vdi of 45-50 which is not all that strange because of the design I have found other silver rings that are in the same range.

P.S. Nancy I also found two more of those pesky tax tokens.

Yes, that's on old ring for sure. More tax tokens also? :surprised: My word, wonder why there's so many of them. But still they're good finds.

We go to our PATH meeting tonight and I know a young man that will be a happy camper. Thanks Bula.

HH,
Nancy

Nice hunt bula. That ring looks like an lost-wax casting piece, could be very old and definitely one of a kind . . .congratulations.

srf2112 I have never heard of lost wax casting, I will have to do a little research on it, Thanks for the info.
