1893O Ten Dollar gold piece certified, graded as AU58, and encapsulated by NGC. I bought this coin years ago because the color was so beautiful and the mintage is tiny compared to other years of that era--only 17,000 of these were made with the "O" mintmark in 1893, signifying being minted in New Orleans. I am selling now to raise cash to live on while unemployed.
The "Redbook" for coins gives the current value as $1050.00 for AU58. First $925 takes it, OBO. Here's the book: http://www.amazon.com/Guide-Book-United-States-Coins/dp/0794833497/
Redbook also indicates that these $10 gold pieces contain .48375 oz of pure gold. At $1540/oz for gold, the melt value alone is then $744.98.
