Hello ALL!

As summer starts to cool a little I got our for a few hours today and came back with a few keepers...

10 minutes in I got a penny / dime signal @ 4-6 inches...

Out pops my 2nd 1800's silver for the year...

Congrats! Very good ginds for sure! Yhat buckle does look old. Nice Barber and I like the V also, Beale.

I got ID on the Buckle:

FoosePaul, nice find! As you know, this is a georgian period loop chape off a shoe buckle. The loop chapes are a little harder to date, but as this is fairly simple and heavy, and as well, it is solid brass rather than the newer steel and brass that was coming into style, the statistical odds are probably closer to early or mid 1700's (up to 1770).

Check out XI 2nd row nest to last one...

A shoe buckle, wow who would have guessed it. Well obviously some one.

Nice dime. Would an ultrasonic jewlery cleaner work on the V nickle?

Jeff

if it is, you might consider sending it in to get it cleaned professionally
