1887 & 1903 Indians and the end of my curse!

[attachment 53943 2007_0414Image0003.JPG][attachment 53944 2007_0414Image0004.JPG]

I got out this morning for a while and decided to hit forest that was the location of one of the first settlements in New Jersey. Well, the spot is very urban now and had so much trash that hunting was impossible even with my sniper coil. So then I then decided to hit a wooded area closer to my house, which I first hunted years ago, and has been hit hard over the years, so I was not optimistic.. I left the trails and finally found an old brick pile, and dug two Indians, one in nice shape with nice coloring, the other in such bad shape I was just glad to see a date.

In seven years of metal detecting I have found coins going back to the 1700's, but until today I had never found a coin older than 1902 in my own county! Well today I finally broke the curse with the beat up 1887 Indian Head found only a few miles from my home!

Nice finds and it's always nice to do that close to home. My back yard produced an 1854 Canadian bank token. Didn't even have to start the truck....eheheh. The curse is broken so post those pics!!!
