1876-S Seated Quarter!

I got out for my first hunt of 2016 this past Friday. I had received permission to hunt the yard of a beautiful old house built in 1851. I was there maybe ten minutes when I received a iffy signal on my Etrac that sometimes bounced around the quarter region so I had to dig. From about five inches down pops this seated liberty quarter! My first coin of 2016 and it's a seated quarter! I continued to search for an hour or so and didn't find a single older coin, all clad. I will be going back there again sometime soon!

That's a pleasant surprise. .. only seated i ever dug up was also an 1876..dug in my own backyard... congrats..

Nice save on the Seated Quarter. Sometimes cleaning a coin highlights existing damage. Something to consider in the future. Best of luck and ...

Happy Hunting!
