Well the storm battered out coast last night! My friends deck chair hire business was destroyed, and there was serious flooding in my area. They were digging pebbles and piling them back on top of the ridge at my beach today. The guys kind of know me so they didn't mind me detecting from the patch they were digging the pebbles from. I was about 30 metres away from the digger and dump truck, so it was a decent chance to detect some freshly uncovered ground. I found 150ish targets in 5 hours. 1 coin pendant from 1860, and a ring that has loads of writing in and looks superb old, must clean it up.... No gold today, but

You were sure in it! :surprised: Great haul..you are sweeping it up!..sorry to hear about the weather you blokes are getting..good for you but tragic for all others...its been going on so long a fellow could have flown over pretty much...Nice load there WW..:please::beers:

I've sure had enough of it now, even if it does give us good opportunities at the beach. There are too many people suffering the consequencies of this weather now.......they need a break from it.Problem is there is more to come tomorrow and then later in the week......it's bo....ks to be honest.

Ya that weather really sucks but it presents a once in a lifetime opportunity.if there is anything good left now is probably when you will find it.congrats on your finds. Good luck and stay safe..

Yeah BH, right? Look at the age and amount of those finds! Blown right down to the hardpack! Hoowee! if only!

Nice finds, WW. Be glad to see the ring when you get it cleaned up. 9.5 lbs is some good clad. Hope you post a photo of the ring pendant.

Since the beginning of january i've had 11 rings off my local beach, although six are junk jewelry. The storms certainly bring up the finds but I certainly miss walking up the beach rarther than battling up it against the wind and rain.Maybe i'm getting soft just lately.....i might be turning into a fine weather detectorist.:)

Naww...you aint getting soft!
You have been committed to really working it and hunting hard for a while now...plus all the thinking you do along with it! Like the boat and all!

No, you've been building up stamina/endurance to really go after it this year, fair weather or fowl..you have a leg up on the other blokes who cant hunt in that mess of a weather pattern, and thats what will put you into the cut when the gold blows out one of these days, so much gold, you will have to have a lorrie follow you down the beach, and a set of buckingham guards walking you to the bank one of these days! ..got great hopes for you WW, you are doing and thinking all the right things...
