Awesome day in Nevada yesterday with the guys. We managed to pull some great stuff from this site. SUPER trashy area. I'm sure theres more but it's a drive for us. 4.5hrs each way. Woke up at 3:30, left by 4:30, hunted till dark and got home at 2am. You're not hardcore unless you live hardcore ;)

Great finds Dr Tones! Seeing that seated with the hole in it reminded me, my grandfather gave me a number of things he saved during his life including many things he brought home from WWII but among the items were a couple of seated dimes and I think at least one of them had a little hole in it like that one. Must of been used as a necklace at some point? I need to get those out and run them under my ctx just in case! I'm guessing they probably come up same as any other silver dime though, 12/13:45/46. Nice work and a very long day! Had many days like that back in my paragliding days but not so much during my newer metal detecting days. I always said I can catch up on my sleep when I die. Too much of that life isn't good though but way to go Dr. Diehard!

Beautiful relics... I'll be in Carson City next week for a week long digging trip.. Hoping to pop some Seated.. Nice hunt..

Dirtbag K.

Why did they have to put a hole in her head:shocked: nice hunt know when the Chinese coins were minted I found a few and have not check on them yet . Whats the babe thingy kind of looks cool . sube

Nice Tones... Sorry you went find any Chinese coins when you're here..

Sube- I'm not sure what that is? Maybe a button cover or something? Hat pin?

GK- I'm ok with that... I was hoping that they might have dropped an american coin!

I can tell you that the hole in the dime was probably put there to wear around the neck as a necklace and/or tied with a string inside pockets to keep from losing it. Most coins with holes in them were used that way. It must have been convenient the Chinese coins already had the holes in them. I have only found one Chinese coin and it is just like one that you have in an older video. I am not sure what kind it is or the year. Here is the video..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0NN-Y3XTqw You focus in on it at 38 seconds.

Very nice finds. It feels good to be finding such good relics.
