1836 Large Cent...A beauty!!!

I went back after work for about an hour to the place that I found the colonial copper last weekend, and found this 1836 Matron Head in a sandy area of the woods!!! It was only about 4 inches deep. It cleaned up really nicely after a hydrogen peroxide bath. The coin still has some great detail with only a little corrosion! It is only the second large cent I have found, and they are both 1836!!!!

I also found the shoe buckle (?), which still has a working hinge! Any help with time period would be appreciated. I also found another 1916 Merc, with no mintmark! Darn!

Can anyone ID what Newcomb variety this is?
