1817 My Oldest Coin find to date

Driving through a small town yesterday I decided to turn on Church Street. I figure there might be a "Park Street" down the road. Then I see they where replacing a sidewalk, at a 1850s church. Found out they had replaced them about 30 years ago. With the 75LTD, I did the 60 ft strip and got only one coin, an 1817 large cent in pretty good shape. That was a great feeling. Havnt gotten a real old coin yet this year. Glad on a hunch I took that turn. I was surprised i was getting nothing, not even clad, but about 8 mins into the swing i get the large one about 4 inches deep in the dirt. That is my earliest coin to date. Im trying to see if it is a 15 star or 13 star-I think they made both that year, and that style large cent was only begun in 1816. Im closing in on the earlier century mark- hope to do that some day before I go.Thanks all for lookin,CO
