1812 militia button

One of my recent South Florida finds cleaned up a little, a war of 1812 militia button found using my Sovereign GT. This button was found with a group of 1830s buttons, 20 musket balls and the 1836 gold half eagle coin.

that is one cool button. I found mine in south ga close to the Fla line. My find is an officers button. By any chance, does the back read lewis and tomes extra plated?

The back is in great shape just like the front but the wording is too feint to make out what it reads.
