1800's Inn

Gday from Australia,

I have just got back from a 3 day country trip.
Happily I successfully managed to research the site of an old inn, track down the owner who lived 50 miles away from it and gained permission to detect there.
This region was first settled around 1860.
In the first minute of detecting I found an 1864 Shilling , later on I unearthed 5 dog registration tags from 1892 to 1932 and a lead seal.
Near the day's end I found an old fob watch.

Next day I unearthed 3 more dog tags, a copper locket, a brass Naval Belt buckle, a 1862 Penny, a 1951 Penny and a 1878 Threepence which was sitting on the surface.
I went away tired but happy.
Half the area was completed so there is more to do next time.

As per usual lately, I was using the HF DD elliptical coil. I had the 70 in program 1 with sens, as high as possible and tracking on.
Happy detecting everyone.

Nice research, And it paid off...nice finds!

Love your work! I have found five fob watches in the last two years but none with a case , its good to see it can happen.
Did you find any keg taps?

Nice job. Very cool finds. Thanks for posting

Gday again,

Beale...Fob nautical ? ..not sure , I did find a brass naval belt buckle but the area is mainly coastal farming land.
Back then, imports and all the grain and wool etc was transported from this area by ship.
I did find it interesting that the fob has 2 loops to attach to - is this usual.?

doctor11...I did find a brass tap wing ...located a couple of items under the spoon in the photo.

Also my wife picked up from the ground 2 glass bottle stoppers - spotted by eye.
I came across a brown marble bottle stopper.
This site is awesome, no-one has been detecting there before as far as I know.
Thanks to farmer Peter for allowing me on.
Happy swinging.
