The Original Sovereign on a straight shaft. The Avenger 180 TLC flipped the back plate to lower the cable connectors to give more cable, this also gets the coil connector out of the line of the internal pot and enabled me to drill a port hole to adjust meter without removing the back cover.Oh yeah used one of my mount with thumb screws.Put a ID chart back on tape and some cut outs.Getting these ready for the auction block. HOT DANG !!.....VERY stealthy looking there Ron !!......... I will use it PROUDLY my friend !!...... You guys needing meters really need to hook up with Ron ....He builds some nice meters at a great price ...... Of course if you feel like paying more money , who am I to stop you ...... The price is more than fair on Rons meters especially in this economy ....Jim

Ron,

You perform nice quality work on those meters. It is good to know there is an alternative meter for the sovereign. Keep up the nice work. - Jim

R148off,My 180 meter is already sold. The Avenger is on Ebay and committed to the auction until Friday.Give me a PM and I can give you more information. Thanks Ron

Good looking meter. You're doing a service to the Sovereign community because there are no longer any meters being made by anybody other than the built in meter mod. I did notice on Ebay that somebody in the UK is making and selling a good looking meter too. If I may make one suggestion...I assume you are making and selling the meters on Ebay. You need to make your product discription more clear. It is sort of confusing and sounds like you are selling a Sovereign with a meter. If I didn't know otherwise I wouldn't have been able to make heads or tails of it.

Critter, suggestion appreciated, the UK meter on one Ebay for sale went for around 140.00 if I remember correct. Thanks Ron

$140! You could make a nice little profit selling those meters your making for say $60 or $75 and have just about zero competition since I don't think anybody in the US is making them anymore. I like how you made a spliced cable so the user doesn't have to tap into the coil's cable like all the home made meters were being done in years gone by. Couldn't you ditch the splitter and have the coil plug directly into the meter, or isn't there room enough for a coil cable socket in the meter enclosure? Again, great looking meter.

Critter the connectors could be placed in the box,but this would take away the advantages. The meter can be placed almost anywhere on the rod asm and even hip mounted.(Look on classifieds accessories under Looking for a Sunray DT lll.By the way this cord is a pain to make lots of shrink tape, glue and soldering.I try to make this very user friendly for the Sovereign user.Critter Thanks, the meter actually works better than it looks. No, the meter can be set to whatever number you want in terms of what a quarter or dime reads. It's just logical to set it to 180 so it matches the charts. Whenever you go to calibrate the meter let the machine warm up for about 5 to 10 minutes because things will be a little off at first until it gets up to steady state. So don't play with the meter until the machine warms up a bit, as chances are it will be still calibrated right once it's warmed it's self up. The less you play with the calibration pots on any meter the better, because they have a specific use raiting as to just how many times they can be adjusted before the pot starts to get dead spots in it and makes it harder and harder to calibrate over the years. My Digisearch meter is already sort of a pain to get set just right because of this.

Hey Synthnut, I see you're post...but that was from several months back so I don't know...? Are you coming back to the Sovereign again?

Well just my 2 cents, I have one of those Ron's metter and it works perfect, since day one when I did the instalation I didn't had to do any ajustments to it and today 2 moths later still don't have to adjusted, it is at 180 on a quater.
Nice units and well biulded.
Big thank's to Ron that he make me a longer cable to fit the configuration of my machine!
