18.75 Concentric coil, -- what's you thoughts?

I recently purchased a used 18.75 concentric, (9"), from the classifieds here, and am really impressed with it. I also have the 6"HF DD, as well as the 5x10 DD HF. --- The 9" HF seems much deeper, and while giving up some of the target seperation abilities of the DD's, it still does well. ( moderate soil, avg. GB of 20-25 ) ----- The coil ID's well, is very light, and sounds off pretty well on good targets, without constantly bombarding my ears with the trash. I have 6 of the X-terra coils now, and it really is a different detector with the different coils.(X-terra 705) --------- So while I often see praise being posted on the 3kHz, the 10.5 DD, and the 6"DD,--- the 9"HF concentric seems to hardly ever get mentioned. --- Just wondering if anyone else is using this coil, and what are the virtues you like about it? --------- Thanks in advance, .........

Not a bad coil better mostly for jewlry and hits nickels deeper. On other coins it loses a bit of depth compared to its 7.5klhz and 3klhz versions.

18.75 is the king of jewelry. I havent tried the 9 inch HF coil, although I do have one. This is really probably my bad, BUT....I have found SO MANY coins, jewelry and gold with that 18.75 coil that I have not had neither the time nor desire to switch the coil. The soil where I hunt averages abouty 15 or 16....I don't plan on buying an "arsenal of coils" anytime soon..,.,.,
Happy hunting my friend

I must be the only person that did not like that coil? I just could not use it, Beale.
I can't see myself trying that one. I have decided that it is just not going to be suitable for my conditions. I hunted a freshwater beach today with th 5 x 10 and had a GB in the 9 to 13 range. I am told that DDs just run better in those highley mineralized conditions.

So I do like the 18.75 coil and I use 2 of them. If I decided to get another it would be the 10.5 DD, the same as another 7.5khz will be the 10.5 DD.
I perfer to hunt with the DD coils.

I read your post wrong. I thought you were refering to the DD 18.75. The only coil I run is the stock, I have not tried the 18.75 concentric. I prefer a concentric or at least an open center. Sorry about that, Beale.
