Went digging today & found a 1793 Chain Cent. The obverse is smooth but you can make out the chain on the reverse. Very rare coin. HH TIM

Wow way to go TIM! Congrats on the find of a lifetime!

Thank you, My buddy dug one a couple of months ago. His is in better shape than mine. I'll take what I can get though.

wow very cool find Grats

I have a bag of large cents back to 1800, but not one chain cent. Rare find..it's on my list. Great find Digger!!

I haven't found any chain cents yet, but I did find a twin of your buckle yesterday.... Maybe there's a chain cent around the site I was at, just waiting quietly... Inches from where I stopped for the day.

Great find. Go back and hit that area hard! HH and good luck!

Last one that went to auction sold for over $1.3 million(pcgs cond), even one in poor shape should be worth considerable $. They were only minted for 1 month(March I think) 1793.

Thanks, I'm kind of pumped about finding it.

I took some better pictures of the chain cent.
