FOUND THIS AND HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT'S FROM - TOP SAYS "WE THE PEOPLE" SOME KIND OF PIN BECAUSE IT HAS A POINTED STUD ON BACK - ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS IS

Our United States Constitution begins with "We the people".

Perhaps made in tribute on a key anniversay (150th year, etc.)

The presentation of the Declaration of Indepence by the commitee of five 1776...

Depicts Franklin and the others as well as Congrss members present.

The pistols seem to be circa 1800's so I suspect it might be a Centienial pin of some sort...

The theme is not from the Declaration of Independence. The Dec. of Ind. begins with "When in the course of human events"...... July 4 1776

The theme is of the signing of the draft of the Constitution. Only the US Constitution begins with "We the people" ...... Sept. 17 1787

If the badge was to commemorate say, the 150th anniversary, that would make it circa 1937. Correct for the post style.

The Constitution was Ben Franklin's project, he is seated witnessing the fruit of his labors.

Sorry about the previous post. In re-thinking it I beleive Madison had more direct influence on the Constitution. I think Franklin was only a delegate from Pennsylnania. But I remember learning Franklin made some kind of speech at the signing. (that's why I think I connected him to it in my first memories,....it's been a while since high school)

Thank you all for the help and since everyone was so helpful, I have another button - I can read "Devonshire Regi" and the outside ring is maybe a blue plastic. Also there is some hard crusted substance on the rest of the lettering. How do I remove it to see the entire pin and what it says?

I found this...

With the thing around the pin, I would think it was a collar or a hat pin??? It could also just be some type of protector (lost by a collector)

To clean it better, try soaking it in olive oil for 3 days, then hit it with a soft toothbrush and dish soap

HH,
