17" coil cover fit?

Just got the 17" coil and I have noticed that the coil cover does not seem to fit tight at the ends of the coil. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just a bad cover? Is there any fix for it?
Thank you

Someone else had the same problem a while back. Mine never snapped on really tight, and now it is really loose so I put a couple of small zip ties on for the moment until I get a chance to call Minelab.
I don't recall if they sent the other guy that had the problem a new coil or cover...

Warm up the cover in hot water (not boiling), or with a hair dryer until hot to the touch but before it starts to melt.

Carefully apply the cover to the coil and get it to fit as you like. Might want to wear gloves if you get it damn hot.

Secure the areas with zip ties or tape that were funky before.

Cool with water and remove the ties.

Should fit, and stay in place now.

Ha...

Thanks Insayn, just saw your post too... It seems like whatever lip there was to snap it into place is gone, so I don't know if it will stay even doing as you recommended. But it is worth a try before bedliner..

Goodmore , how has the bedliner been holding up for you?

I am a part time beach hunter. So my coil doesn't see as much use. But so far so good. Like you mine never fit correctly. If you are a beach hunter zip ties and tape ar not an option. The cover will fill with black sand. Taking it on and off is just a pain in the behind. If it is loose a wave will unseal it the rest of the way. I went with the choice that works best for me and my hunting frequency. I like the ability to rinse the CTX after every hunt and not worry about the cover. I know the that Minelab does not like the bed liner idea. So I probably voided something in the warranty. And the coil is very exspensive. But hey I rolled the dice. Sorry for the spelling if there are errors. My spell check is not working here.

Thanks for the response Good...
