169 coins 2 rings 4hr Beach hunt

Buried Crap NJ

New member
Hit the beach during a howling south wind and storm. Can you say sand movement! 57 quarters 51 pennies 33 dimes 28 nickles. Two dimes are Mercs, The smaller ring is 10k the HS ring isn't marked but may be Silver. The earings and bracelet are junk, the two chains a silver.
Today was the 3030 best coin count day. The last hour I dug only low tones looking for gold! Most of the targets came out of the same low area that I walked out of and had to return. Had I not done that the coin cound could have been better. My back hurts!!!!

Wow! 169 coins & 2 rings in 4hrs Awesome.

Good Job BC. Silver and Gold now that is a great recipe. No need to go to the gym after a workout like that. Thanks for posting. HH :minelab:

Sounds like you had a blast, congrats!

Wow what a day ,fair play
Got my 3030 a couple of days ago with the 6 " coil and 10 " coil ,my previous detectors have been a mine lab advantage musketeer and a garret ace 250 .
So really its like going from a bicycle to a Ferrari .
Just wondering have you got any tips for me as I'm really a newb on the digital stuff ,I have read the manual twice but
I'm not that confident of coming out of the auto settings yet but really don't want to get stuck there
Have you got any tips on how to best set up my machine for the beach as it would be a big help
My finds so far have been a toy rabbit I'm serious haha, 4 dollar coins and about 6 five p and 20 p coins
And I have been digging every signal , I found a can of beer at nearly 3 and a half foot which was really surprising to me and all the people who thought I was digging a cave on the beach. Oh and have found about a 100 bottle caps
Any pointers would be great ,
Thanks again bc

I am may not be the the best person to answer your questions. I have had a tough go of the 3030 coming over from a non computer machine. Here is where I made my mistakes. Don't be so quick to move from the preset programs till you really know what you want the to change! The preset programs will be more than enough till you can see what you change affects the results! Be sure of any advice you use is for your specif ate type of hunting! Bottle caps were a problem to me as well, but it was due to changing the preset program for my type hunting. Since going back to preset programs I have only dug caps that were bent! The tones are key to the success of the machine, seconded by the cursor placement, the last item is the TID. Only after hearing a strange unfamiliar tone do I look towards the display.I have found that all the earings I have dug thus far have been TID at an number not consistent with a good target.(opened loop) But most had a nice low tone that stopped you in your track. Both the earings pictured were in the 09-?? on the TID one turned out to be .925 which had a more higher tone, the other was barking and chirping that I just dug it to see what it was. The 3030 knew it wasn't of non ferrous metal, only the coating on it was! The hunt last night was simply right place right time, most of the targets came from a small area. Now I did know this area produces on a regular basics as I have hunted this beach for 30 years. Which brings up the most important point of beach hunting you may find good targets just walking aimlessly on the beach. But nothing beats be able to see reading the beach for the low hollowed out depressions. Hope this helps others.
