at the beach this past weekend. There were so many people that they had to be turned away and then the fights started. When it was said and done, one guy was dead and 3 wounded from gunshot wounds, what is wrong with people? I started to go Saturday to check out the crowd but the line of traffic was stacked for miles, just came home. I'm sure they must of lost some goodies, local paper said they were playing all over the sand and beach, volleyball, football, horseshoes, etc. Apparently someone had made a post on facebook about a beach party but that was a hoax, anyway it caused alot of problem and cost one young man from Houston his life, that is sad. I'll go check out the beach tomorrow and see what I can find. By the way, the place where the shootings took place is the area my hunting partner and I hunt all the time. Stay safe guys. John

Musta went to surfside. Went to Galveston myself and got clad but no goodies. Not being there this week was it on the fee beach or the free beach nearer the pass? Like to avoid this in the future Thanks and HH
 
The fee beach close to Stahlman Park. Went there today and hunted Surfside, ended with the usual clad and one silver ring. The area where the young man was shot and killed was blocked off by police who were searching the area with metal detectors, offered to help them but they declined. Surfside has changed so very much over the past few years and it's changed for the worse, the Houston crowd (young people) have really started to upset the people that live in Surfside, they hate all the trash they leave behind.......
 
John I know exactly what you mean. I grew up going to surfside and over the years it's really went to crap. The trash is everywhere and no end to the wierdos. I usually hunt alone and I'm constantly harrased by the gays. They will pull up near you and flash thier lights or honk or some other signal.I've had half a dozen around me at one time. The real problem is a lack of LE Officers though it's not thier fault.Surfside doesn't have the manpower and niether does BCSO. I just prefer Galveston where LE types are everywhere and alcohol is illegal.HH
