1500, white coil vs the new black coil

Does the black coil get any more depth over the old stock white one ?
Why did they change ??
Is the pin pointing as good ???

It doesn't get any deeper per say, but what it does do is allow the user to run his GTI with a higher sensitivity, hence deeper hunting in most soils. It was redesigned, because the older version white coil had the coil wires set in a foam type of material. So, sudden jerks or mild bumps against a tree made the coil false. The new coil however, has the coil wires set in a hard resin, which prevents the coil wires from moving around when the coil is jerked or banged against a tree. The new coil is also flat. Both coils pinpoint about the same.
