I got a 4.5 coil for my 1500 and can only got a coin at 4" with the sen. at 11. Is that all the depht I can get with that coil????????? The stander coil only gets 8" on a coin.

GTI1500 has never been a depth demon although it makes up for it with a excellent meter, notch and imaging system. Of course a lot would depend on your ground and detector expertise but getting half the depth from a coil half the size sounds logical to me as its used for trashy aeas for the most part. Now the GTI 2500 has a all metal mode that ID's that will go as deep as any of them..In my neck of the woods 6-8 inch silver coins are common but indeed 8-12 inch one are around in some areas. Might try the ZERO mode on that small coil for additional depth..

coil will not give the depth like the larger coils. Some items can be found a bit deeper though. The 5.5 hothead coil will give a tab more depth so i`ve heard. The 4.5 does a great job on my GTA 1000 and i use it a lot.

just how deep can the 2500 pick up coins in disc? how about in all-metal?
Thx
Mike

I guess it depends on your area..Would consider the 2500 about an 8 inch machine under most conditions, however the all metal that ID's is where its at. Dug a measured 13 inch Barber dime that ID'd on the button and yep have used the Explorer and CZ and never got a silver dime that deep.Again ground conditions, expertise of the operator all play a part but the all metal that ID's will stand up to any unit relative depth.
