15" WOT or standard 10" coil

I changed my coil a few months ago to the 15" WOT, I am not sure I like it much better than my original 10" stock coil yet but it may be that I am only a year into detecting and really was not ready for the change. What do you experienced guys think? Which one do you like better?
Thanks

i did not like the 15" WOT on land but it was a great beach coil..a bit heavy, and not as stable as the stock coil or the S 12"..for land i like the Sun Ray S8" ,on the beach the S12" is great.its lighter than the stock 10" and much better coverage...

I used a 15" WOT mounted on my E-Trac on the beach. I only used it for about 4 hours but it ran smooth and you covered alot of ground, however my arm was wore out and at the depth I was digging with my Pro-Coil I did not see any advantage. I really didn't give it an even comparison for only using it 4 hours, but it was borrowed and I did not want to send it back looking like it was half worn out.
I saw a local with a WOT wired on his Excalibur and I don't know how he ever found anything, in fact I never saw him dig. He walked like he was going to a fire and his swing was just as fast, and the only place the coil got close to the sand was right in front of him.

No wasn't Santa Monica, it was actually on Tybee Island, Ga.

Bcoop are you from area or just visiting. I have home in Savannah for sale but still thought may go back during summer for a few visits to the area. Is it worth the time? I know Tybee is busy as heck during summer.

Tybee is vacation for us, I enjoy the small community and layed back atmosphere of Tybee. There are more productive beaches out there to detect but we have friends here in Missouri that have relatives that own property there and we have been meeting there and enjoy a week of detecting and relaxing.
