$15 - Swapping cells in CTX-3030 battery pack

This is awesome. My CTX is brand new, but I am sure I will do this at some point.

Kevin

Thanks Jason lots of good information there. You should put the video into the CTX resource center.

For me, it was not all that successful as I am no soldering expert. It worked and the battery was good for about 6 or 8 hunts then one was dead. I think I got it too hot during soldering but do not know definitively. Just be very careful when doing this. Those little flat metal contacts soldered to the batteries are really tricky to get off the original battery as they are sort of 'tacked' onto the battery. Not easy to get off, and as the video says, go slow, and very patient with it. Also, soldering is not all that easy either as you dont want to get the battery too hot, and in order to get the solder to stick (prevent cold solder joint) you need it hot!

But, if you know what you are doing soldering and have the proper solder iron, it is a breeze.

Good video, Jason. Thanks for posting.
For those of you planning on doing this, theres an older thread by amberjack (iirc) on doing this as well.

Great video I did mine works great, minelab should offer this service or a longer battery warranty.
