15'' COILTEX QUESTION

The 15'' coil 3khz, how would this compare on a xterra 70 depth wise on silver in an open area against e-trac, explorer, F75 with boost, T2 with boost? Looking at another detector for this type of hunting. If this coil pushes depth around those that might take care of that problem. Only bad thing is the price, i only paid $325.00 used for the x70. Thanks Tom

Well Tom, I have 8",10", 12", and 18" loops for my Explorer, and the 18" is the only one that meets/beats the 15" Coiltek All Terrain.
The nice thing about the 3kHz fixed frequency coil is how it works in trash, exciting copper, silver, and brass through it. I can't even tell you how many times I've detected good stuff with trash in the same hole.

So it does as good or better than the Exploer with the pro coil? How is the weight of that big coil compared to maybe the 10''dd coil?

I would say it's better than the Pro Coil, but at the same time I'd say that it would be about the same if Coiltek made a 15" coil for FBS.

And if I remember correctly, it weighs a hefty 328gms. Some folks feel the need to counterbalance it, but I've found that shortening the shaft to where I barely clears my toes with it works fine w/o adding more weight. Either way it's lighter than the FBS machines.
