14k with Ruby

Hey everyone! I went out his afternoon and after getting skunked at a regular spot, I trekked off the beaten path to another beach and hit pay-dirt. It's a men's 14k with a decent Ruby (probably synthetic...I'll take it to the jeweler tomorrow and let you all know). It's funny , I bumped into another detectorist before I found this and we were talking about getting skunked for the day....we said our goodbyes and I plunked back into the ocean and wham-mo! The Universe has a sense of humor. It was a lovely afternoon here, warmer, sunny and a little breezy....too beautiful to stay inside. I found this hunting with the Excal II in Discriminate, in water up to my hips. Thanks for looking and Happy Hunting!

Beautiful ring. If I may ask, where are you at that it is warm and beautiful, most of the country in almost frozen over? Thanks and good hunting, hope you find many more like that. John

All I can say is you are Smoking Hot on the Gold!

Im in West Central Florida John....We have a front hanging over us right now keeping us warm. It was in the mid 70's today.

28 Degrees on the Connecticut Shore as I write this Mate.

Snow is piled so high from the plows that I can't get near the water.

And I wouldn't if I could as conditions can be life threatening!

Keep the great finds coming Fellow Hunter,

CJ

Sweet. I kinda took the past few days off from MDing. I have a had two people from other forums here this past week. We had a pretty good week though. But I was a little wore out. I'll be back at it by Sunday am.

Beautiful ring,Dig. It brings back a horrible memory, last year i found one very similar except it also had a diamond on each side.
When i got to my car I had lost the ring. It huants me still everytime i show the measly 4 gold rings i've found since i started this hobby.

Congrats and happy huntings.

WTG!! Very nice ring. That's how you do it - man you're killin it!!! More good luck to ya.

My wife said it probably is a garnet, too big for a ruby. If it is a real ruby you certainly hit pay dirt. Great hunt and great ring and a great story! Congrats.

Nice ring, keep up the good work.

Don't feel bad Epi....One of my detectorist buddies once found a large engagement ring with lots of extra ice on the sides. It was a really wavy day and for some reason he decided he would pocket it instead of putting it in his finds pouch. He thought he had it in his zipped swim suit pocket but either missed or had a hole in the netting and lost the ring. When he went to get out of the water...no ring. It hurts the heart to think about it but, the beautiful part about our hobby is ....you will find another ring eventually that tops the last one.
