yes i was reading about all the coils , and not heard a lot about the 1400 , what do yall think of it

It's a very heavy coil and too big for my hunting. Guys claim 3" more depth than the 6x10. In terms of target ID performance, in soil up to about a 4 to 3 coin-inch mineralization strength, the stock 9.5 inch coil is deeper than the 6x10DD coil, but, the 1400DD easily out does both in mineralization.

Bulky and heavy. Look for White's to have a replacement for it as well as a bigger selection of DD coils. (My guess, but I bet a good one)

I have one and it is HEAVY, but it is a great coil in heavily mineralized areas. I tested it against my white DD 6x10 and the white 12" in on a beach in Southern California I picked three areas the first area (1) near a fire pit, the second (area 2) in the sand between the fire pit and the high water line and the third (area 3) between the high water line and the low water line. The fire pit area has a lot of charcoal and and burned residue from the fire pit, area 2 had less trash seemed to be less mineralized, and area 3 was wet and had much more black sand (magnetite). I started with the 12" and picked up nothing in fire pit area, 3 quarters 6 nickles 4 dimes and 9 pennies. With the 6x9 i picked up 2 nickles and 3 pennies in the fire pit area, I picked up 3 dimes in area 2, and nothing in area 3. Finally with the 1400 I found two quarters and three dimes in the fire pit, one quarter and 1 dime in area 2, and two dimes, four pennies and 1 nickle in the area 3.

The important thing here that in the mineralized areas I was able to detect coins I didn't get with the other coils. All targets were less than 8 inches deep ( I didn't try to determine depth).

I still use the 6X9 the most but every so often I pull out the big heavy coil to see what I missed.

There is a new one for sell on the classified site half price never been used. Check it out. Good luck.
