Sunday morning was laundry day, so after I made multiple trips up and down the stairs carring our wealth of clothes down to the laundry room of our appartment, the wife let me scan awhile as long as I was within eye and earshot of her in case a pair of dirty jeans got away from her.
The laundry room sits right beside all the electical meters for the building and right beside it is one of those big boxed transformers. I had alot of RF but it went stable at a sensitivity of 1 and a -40 threshold.
Then I just started scanning alongside the curb, looking for the pocket change. In about 40 feet I dug up 5 ugly quarters, a nickel, and two dimes. Deepest was about three inches, with about a 2-1/2 to 3" air gap because of the grass height. Needless to say, I found a new site to hunt.
After the laundry was done I went looking for more clad at a closeby school yard. Ran into some competition there as a guy was already whizzing away with a Classic ID. We visited for a spell, then divided the place in half. Course he was through with his half a lot faster than me, so I pointed at a spot and said save me that one, which he did. The whole day total was $3.78.
I started out in the sand at a sens of 8. But got tired of digging such deep holes so I turned it down to 5. Got quite a few 51 numbers that once I removed some sand then resolved into 30s or 34s. It was a fun couple of hours. Even though the other guy cost me some bucks.
